Discovery Montessori is seeking an experienced batch / prep cook to join our established school food program.
Working closely with the head of our nutrition / food program this position will be responsible for helping prep, cook and serve breakfast and lunch at our Scranton locations. Hours are 7.30-2.30 but are flexible.
Menus are a monthly, rotating series of hot and cold items allowing for ease of planning and scheduling.
Duties include :-
- cooking batch recipes-2-3 times a week
- preparing fresh produce / washing, chopping, storage
- receiving commercial food delivery orders
- maintaining inventory list
- general sourcing of ingredients at local grocery stores as needed
- daily meal service on-site at one location (max 50 students)
- kitchen clean up / dishwashing
