Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will play a crucial role in implementing individualized treatment plans for clients, primarily focusing on children and young adults with autism and developmental disabilities. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and support while fostering positive behavioral changes through evidence-based practices.
Duties
- Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies to support learners in achieving their goals.
- Assist learners with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence and self-care skills.
- Collect and record data on learner progress, ensuring accurate documentation of behavioral interventions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including behavior analysts and educators, to develop and adjust care plans.
- Provide direct support to learners during therapy sessions, promoting engagement through teaching techniques.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all aspects of patient care and medical documentation.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors effectively.
- Support learners in navigating social situations, enhancing their communication skills and interactions with peers.
Skills
- Proficient in behavioral therapy techniques, particularly applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with learners, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of special education principles and patient care practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and documentation standards.
- Excellent data collection skills for tracking client progress and outcomes.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors in various settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and effective communication with clients and families.
