Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL Semi Truck Driver to haul loads of trash to and from our shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a semi-truck and trailer, ensuring that all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class A CDL semi-truck to haul trash loads between designated locations.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured using appropriate tie-downs, tarps, and other necessary equipment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Keep accurate logs and records of deliveries, inspections, and maintenance.
- Communicate with dispatch and shop personnel regarding load details, routes, and any issues that arise.
- Monitor truck performance and report any maintenance or mechanical concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Experience hauling heavy loads and properly securing cargo.
- Ability to operate manual or automatic transmission trucks.
- Knowledge of state and federal transportation laws.
- Physical ability to climb in and out of the truck, secure loads, and perform basic truck maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Must have at least 2 years of Class A Semi driving experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience hauling scrap, waste, or construction debris.
- Familiarity with operating roll-off trailers, dump trailers, or flatbeds.
- Forklift or heavy equipment experience is a plus.
