Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Funds Disbursement Officer to join our financial operations team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accurate and timely disbursement of funds, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. Duties
- Manage the end-to-end process of fund disbursement, including verifying transaction requests, authorizations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all disbursements adhere to relevant securities laws, financial regulations, and internal compliance standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
- Conduct thorough reviews to detect potential fraud or irregularities using fraud prevention and detection techniques.
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate trade settlement processes and ensure accurate recording in financial software and SQL databases.
- Prepare detailed reports on disbursement activities, including regulatory reporting and audit documentation aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding disbursement status, issues, or inquiries.
- Support cash management strategies by analyzing Excel data with pivot tables and spreadsheets for effective financial planning.
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as investment management, fixed income markets, and banking operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including pivot tables) and spreadsheets for data analysis.
- Experience with financial software systems and SQL databases for transaction processing and reporting.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations including securities law, financial regulatory compliance, governmental accounting, and industry knowledge of financial regulations.
- Demonstrated ability in internal communication, customer service, and client communication to foster positive relationships.
- Expertise in technical accounting practices related to corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, trade settlement, and financial analysis.
