High Meadows School & Camp in North Atlanta (Roswell), Georgia is accepting substitute teacher applications to join our substitute pool for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is not full-time, but rather on-call, as needed. Applicants MUST have recent classroom teaching experience with children PreK-8th grade. Essential Job Functions:
1. Follows instruction/lesson plans from the classroom teacher.
2. Models professional teaching, learning, classroom management, and supervision.
3. Teaches, promotes and practices academic integrity in accordance with the mission, vision and values of High Meadows School & Camp
4. Adheres to the school philosophy recognizing the developmental nature of childhood growth and each child’s need for belonging.
5. Responsible for student involvement, and models appropriate behavior for students.
6. Engages children as individuals in a way that allows them to grow in their own ability.
7. Models effective communication and relationship building with parents, students, and colleagues.
8. Adheres to the school philosophy recognizing the developmental nature of childhood growth and each child’s need for belonging.
9. Maintains confidentiality of all High Meadows School & Camp families and school information, as well as models and builds professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and staff at all times.
10. Starts the day with morning carpool and/or ends the day with afternoon carpool if classroom teacher was assigned to carpool.

For Pre-K through 5th grade, our school follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme®, and teachers are responsible for presenting and creating units of study used to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The Campus
High Meadows School & Camp sits on 42 wooded acres in Roswell. The school is housed in several buildings spread across the two meadows on the property. We have an active barnyard on campus, serving as the home for horses, sheep, bunnies, and chickens. Faculty and staff must be comfortable traveling between buildings in all types of weather, participating in outdoor activities on the meadows and in the forest, and intermingling with animals.
Qualifications Required
o Two-three years’ recent teaching experience (within past five years) as a teacher or similar experience with children
o Bachelor’s Degree (those with a degree in Education preferred)
o Willingness to take required classroom training, including finger-printing as required for PreK classrooms
Successful substitute teachers at High Meadows School & Camp are punctual, take the initiative, and understand that every day matters.
