Upfit Technician
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install upfits on NEW rental trucks such as flatbed beds, dump bodies, service/mechanics bodies, toolboxes, ladder racks, and other miscellaneous items.
- Safely connect mechanical and electrical aftermarket components, including fuel transfer pumps and safety strobe lighting.
- Meet scheduled deadlines set by the Department Manager while completing installations in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders by verifying the proper installation of all items.
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards for installation procedures and best practices, passing final quality inspections.
- Perform vehicle check-in and check-out inspections using a mobile application with meticulous attention to detail.
- Perform metal fabrication work, including welding, cutting, and drilling, required for production builds and upfits.
- Collaborate with team members and Department Manager to continuously enhance installation processes.
Requirements
MUST HAVE
- Maintain a good driving record and be properly licensed.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player.
- Must be able to work both inside the shop environment and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
Good to have
- Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence and resourcefulness.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and use technology.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
