Job Summary
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to bend, form, and fabricate metal parts according to engineering drawings and work orders. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Set up and operate CNC and/or manual press brake machines to fabricate metal components.
· Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
· Select appropriate tooling and perform machine setup for various production runs.
· Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
· Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
· Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
· Load and unload material safely using lifting devices when required.
· Maintain accurate production and quality records.
· Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues.
· Keep work area clean and safe.
· Work with team members to meet production schedules.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
· 1–3 years of press brake experience preferred.
· Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
· Basic math skills.
· Experience using precision measuring instruments.
· Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
· Willingness to learn Turret and Punch Press
Physical Requirements
· Stand for extended periods.
· Lift up to 50 pounds.
· Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
· Wear required PPE.
Preferred Skills
· CNC press brake programming and setup.
· Sheet metal fabrication experience.
· Forklift and overhead crane experience.
