Experience Required: Prior experience with tunnels, excavation, and large shafts
Key Skills: read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures, construction inspection, quantity measurement/calculation.
<b>Assist the Resident Engineer in daily Field Office and field operations.</b> · Inspect the current conditions, ongoing work, and finished work for quality, completeness, and accuracy. · Perform on-site construction inspection, quantity measurement/calculation. · Document findings in daily work reports, controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work. · Ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with approved construction documents and permits. · Review and annotate plans and specifications to ensure and monitor compliance with work performed. · Ensure work conditions comply with applicable safety regulations including oversee daily toolbox talk by the Contractor’s Safety Manager. · Prioritize conflicting needs, handle matters promptly and follow through on projects to successful completion. · Communicate progress effectively and timely with various parties involved. · Keep accurate and detailed field records including daily job reports, material usage and locations and field test records. · Other related duties and tasks as required. Qualifications - Minimum Requirements: · High school diploma and 5 years of experience in construction inspection for heavy site civil infrastructure construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or in a related field highly preferred. · 5 or more years of experience in construction supervision/inspection · OSHA 30-hour health & safety certificate. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software · Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. Qualifications - Preferred Requirements: · Prior experience with tunnels, excavation, and large shafts. · NJ Transit, MTA, and/or Amtrack safety training is a plus, but training will be provided, if required. · Advanced certifications preferred (NICET, ACI, etc.). · Valid driver’s license may be required depending on site location $30-60.00 per hour
