The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of associate wages, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a key part in supporting associates with payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly and weekly payroll
- Review and verify timekeeping data, deductions, and earnings for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, taxes, and deductions
- Assist with audits related to payroll, benefits, and tax reporting
- Prepare payroll reports for management as needed
- Coordinate with HR and Finance departments on employee changes and benefits deductions
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience with payroll and HR systems (Dayforce preferred)
- Familiarity with federal and state wage and tax laws
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
- Experience in multi-state payroll processing
