Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our dynamic clinical laboratory team. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures that support patient diagnosis, treatment, and research initiatives. Your expertise in laboratory management, specimen processing, and diagnostic testing will contribute directly to advancing healthcare outcomes. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive laboratory tests including clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunoassays, flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and blood banking procedures.
- Manage and maintain laboratory information systems (LIS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval.
- Perform specimen collection and processing using aseptic techniques, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and blood sampling protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Implement laboratory quality control protocols to uphold CLIA regulations and ensure the reliability of test results.
- Operate and troubleshoot medical laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, microscopes, analyzers, and diagnostic instruments with precision.
- Interpret diagnostic test results accurately for clinical decision-making and communicate findings clearly to healthcare providers.
- Maintain meticulous records of laboratory procedures, test results, quality control data, and compliance documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Assist in research laboratory activities related to clinical trials or experimental assays requiring advanced physiology knowledge and laboratory techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a clinical or research laboratory environment with knowledge of laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines including hematology, microbiology, chemistry testing, cytotechnology, and blood banking.
- Strong data management skills with proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Laboratory Management Systems (LMS).
- Hands-on experience with molecular techniques such as PCR, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, ELISA assays, immunoassays, flow cytometry, and other diagnostic testing methods.
- Familiarity with CLIA regulations and implementing laboratory quality control protocols to ensure compliance.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts related to blood sampling/vital signs/clinical chemistry testing.
- Skilled in specimen collection techniques including venipuncture and phlebotomy with a focus on aseptic technique.
- Ability to interpret complex diagnostic tests accurately within a hospital or clinical setting; prior experience in hospital-based laboratories is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
