Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers efficiently and safely
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and presentation to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service flow
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient quality and preparation techniques
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and operating kitchen equipment required
- Knowledge of meal preparation processes necessary for quality output
- Food industry background is advantageous but not mandatory
