We have an immediate need for an supply chain/procurement specialist expediter at Siemens Energy. This a W2 contract-to-hire opportunity that will require extensive travel (up to 90%) to the following locations: Austria, Connecticut, California & Pennsylvania. Thus you must have a valid passport or be able to obtain one. Candidate needs to be local (within a couple hours drive) to the Charlotte area to be able to commute to the facility for meetings, when needed. As a Procurement Specialist Expeditor you will focus on tactical execution of schedules related to purchased material at multiple suppliers as Steam Turbine Titanium Blades advance through each stage in the manufacturing process. You will focus on internal customers and partners who can’t be successful without your contribution, timeliness and transparency. You will work in a highly motivated team with a can-do attitude, helping and supporting each other. You will solve short term / daily issues, creating huge value for our factories and customers. You will become an expert of tactical execution, expediting, and supply chain performance management.
How You’ll Make an Impact
● Strong collaboration with global and local project management and the operational material requirements planning team to achieve most effectiveness in planning, alignment and execution
● Continuously monitor own procurement list, follow up on execution such as order confirmation, progress, compliance with quality requirements
● Support and ensure compliance with transportation and customs requirements in close collaboration with Logistics team
● Responsible for project results (budget versus actuals) of assigned commodities
● Lead technical clarifications with Engineering, suppliers and supplier quality engineers of assigned commodities
● Continuous improvement of procurement related processes and their execution, continuous improvement of own supplier base performance.
● Key Performance Indicators: Project related savings, On Time Delivery, Claim Success, Process quality
● Provide weekly interval schedule progress reports
What You Bring
● Bachelor of Science or Arts, preferred CPM or CPIM or equivalent combination of education and experience
● A minimum of three years of applicable direct purchasing / material requirement planning or comparable relevant experience and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above
● Advanced knowledge of Power Generation products / supply market is preferred
● Advanced technical knowledge required (like read and understand technical drawings, specifications)
● Solid SAP system knowledge as a user of “Buy” module is required
● Advanced analytical skills to handle, transform, understand and use large data volumes (preferred Microsoft Excel)
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration and influencing techniques, result-orientation and strategic-innovative thinking required
● Strong intercultural sensitivity and outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
● Experience facilitating or participating in continuous process improvement projects
● Strong team player, with a can-do attitude and problem-resolution focus
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
