Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other heavy equipment components
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles meet DOT safety standards
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs
- Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection logs to ensure transparency and accountability
Skills
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership or industrial settings with strong knowledge of truck diesel diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing parts as needed
- Familiarity with Cummins , and Detriot motors
- Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and transmissions
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and specialized equipment for vehicle maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
- Experience with tire service procedures including mounting/demounting tires on large wheels; ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills for interacting with team members or clients when needed
