Overview
Stay Sweet Bakery & Ice Cream Shop Goldsboro, NC is looking to add experienced line cooks and food service team members to support our continued growth. Full-time, part-time, and weekend only positions are available.
Although these positions can serve as a primary job, our flexible scheduling ability can also make this a great opportunity for individuals who already work at a breakfast-and-lunch only restaurant or at a restaurant that is closed on Sundays and are looking to earn additional income. Or this can be a great opportunity for individuals with other weekday/daytime requirements to earn additional income during nights/weekends.
- Competitive pay (based on experience, skills, and qualifications), a positive work environment, and flexible hours are available for qualified candidates.
- Primarily afternoon/nights, & weekends. Normal weekday shifts: 3pm, 4pm, or 5pm to closing (about 8:30pm). Normal weekend shifts: 10:30am to 3:30pm or 3:30pm to closing. Opportunities for 'double shifts' on weekends.
- No late nights or early mornings - we close at 8pm and closing staff members are typically out by 8:30pm. Opening shift usually arrives at 10:30am (our store opens at 11am).

· ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus, but not required.

Duties (Abbreviated List)
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, speed, and ensuring quality and presentation meet high standards.
- Assist in opening tasks (food prep) and closing tasks (equipment and general kitchen cleaning) as needed per shift.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.
- When not cooking in the back of the house, assist front of the house staff by serving customers at the front counter - providing friendly and attentive customer service, and operate the cash register and process transactions accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, cooking, cashier, and/or any restaurant experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using commercial kitchen equipment such as flattop grill, fyers, etc.
- Team player with a warm/friendly personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with co-workers and provide great customer service as a team.
- Ability to have positive and fun interactions with kids and families (we are a family fun destination).
- ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus, but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required. We have scheduling flexibility to work around other work or life requirements as needed.
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
