Durham Crisis Response Center is seeking to fill a Part-time Shelter Relief Staff position (12 hour weekend shifts
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7am-7pm
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7pm-7am
Sunday 2pm-11pm)
The overall responsibility of the Shelter Relief Staff is to provide on-site supportive services to shelter residents, to ensure coordination with other agencies, and to assist with all aspects of shelter management. As needed, this position provides back-up coverage to Full Time Case Managers, organizes activities, and represents the Durham Crisis Response Center at community events.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, degree preferred.
Experience:
· 1-2 years of experience in the field of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault, Residential Services, or Case Management
· Experience in human service field recommended.
· Bi-lingual preferred

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated experience and ease working with diverse populations of clients.
· Ability to handle crisis situations with sensitivity and assertiveness.
· Strong organizational skills
· Demonstrated effectiveness as a member of a team and ability to work independently and take initiative.
· Ability to prioritize job responsibilities.
· Ability to provide and receive supervision.
· Ability to maintain personal balance and accomplish multiple tasks that require a variety of skills.
· Demonstrates skills of self-direction
