Engineering Technician
Artisan Technology Group is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team in Champaign, IL, where we’ve operated successfully for over 20 years. We specialize in the sale and support of legacy, unsupported, and obsolete electronic test, measurement, and manufacturing equipment across commercial, industrial, and defense sectors.

Job Description
- The Engineering Technician plays a critical role in evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of electronic test and measurement equipment. You will contribute to the development and refinement of test procedures, ensure technical documentation accuracy, and collaborate with vendors to source critical technical data and software. Training is on-site and set to the pace and capability of the candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform evaluation, testing, and functional repair of electronic test and measurement instruments.
- Maintain project deadlines and keep organized workspaces across multiple projects, as needed.
- Develop and document validation testing and improve technical test procedures
- Verify and maintain the accuracy of technical publications and specifications
- Interface with OEMs and third-party vendors to acquire documentation, software, and technical support
- Provide feedback for workflow optimization and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field preferred
Experience:
- Previous professional experience in electronics or related fields preferred
- Proficient in electronic diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
Technical Competencies
- At least some understanding of electrical components and circuits
- Understanding of computers and ability to use software interfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics.
- Proficient in soldering and basic rework techniques
- Familiarity with light mechanical assembly or repair
- Familiarity with Python is a plus but not required

Position Details
- Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Monday – Friday
- Flexible scheduling available
- On-site role at our Champaign facility
- Includes comprehensive benefits package:
- Starting wage: $30.00-$33.00/hr, with adjustments based on experience and qualifications
