Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team, with a preference for candidates who are available to stay until closing. Full-time (9:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
As a Toddler Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering the growth and education of children in our toddler classroom. Working closely with the Lead Teacher, you will help implement the Montessori method and create an engaging and nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to 3 years.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Assess children's developmental progress through observation and documentation, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with children, promoting their social skills and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with parents to discuss children's progress and address any concerns regarding their development.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
- Stay current on best practices in early childhood education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and proactive in the classroom setting.
