Camp Bow Wow® Allentown has been the premier Dog Day Care, Boarding, and Grooming facility in the Lehigh Valley for over 17 years and we’re looking for energetic, detail oriented, dog-loving people to join our growing team! Camp Counselors are responsible for Play Yard supervision, feedings, baths, facility sanitizing, and the safety and well-being of all the dogs in our care. All staff receive extensive training in dog behaviors, Pet First Aid & CPR certification, dog breeds, as well as other health and safety best practices.
This Camp is hands on and high energy!
Requirements:
- MUST LOVE DOGS!
- WE ARE LOOKING FOR YEAR-ROUND AVAILABILITY – NOT A SEASONAL JOB!
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule (we are open every day of the year – typically from 6:30a-7:00p with opening, mid, and closing shifts).
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required for dog handling, as well as stand for long periods of time.
- Experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred but not required; Will train the right candidate (hospitality, food service, retail, housekeeping, etc).
- Successful completion of required training and Pet First Aid & CPR certication.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with our dogs during playtime to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
- Provide daily care including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following specific health and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with staff and pet parents regarding their dog’s behavior and needs.
- Assist in organizing enrichment activities that promote physical and mental stimulation for the dogs.
- Handle any issues or emergencies with professionalism, care and in a timely manner.
