We are seeking a passionate and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our team and foster a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for young learners. As a assistant teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the early educational experiences of children aged 6 months to 6 years.
Hours (this is a year round position): Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:15pm
- Position will average 20-30 hours per week.
Primary job duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere conducive to learning and exploration.
- Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure open communication and collaboration.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
- Other related duties
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred, but equivalent experience or passion for childcare is welcomed. We support ongoing training!
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment and managing behavior effectively.
- Physically active role: ability to lift up to 50 lbs and participate fully in emergency evacuations.
