Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools to achieve smooth, even coverage
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory, and specific finishing details
- Perform specialty finishes including, plaster, drywall repair, caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation for comprehensive project completion
- Conduct construction estimating for painting projects by assessing materials needed and timeframes to support project planning
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople during remodeling or restoration projects to ensure seamless integration of painting with structural work
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols on construction sites and properly handling hand tools and power equipment
Requirements
- 2 years Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction painting with a strong understanding of industry best practices
- Knowledge of coating types, proper paint selection,
- Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and power tools including airless sprayer equipment when necessary
- Familiarity with surface preparation techniques like plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, masonry work, and restoration processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics to execute detailed painting plans effectively
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills for handling unforeseen challenges on-site
- Valid experience in construction site environments with safety awareness and handyman skills preferred
- Own car and valid driver’s License. Bi-lingual a plus. Must speak fluid English.
