Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, and other construction machinery.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and hydraulic system checks to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, schematics, and electronic diagnostics on diverse machinery to identify issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Repair transmissions, suspensions, air brakes, HVAC systems, and alignments on various equipment models.
- Use heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large components or assemblies during repairs or replacements.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM guidelines.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician in dealership settings or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, diesel engine diagnostics, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting across diverse machinery such as tractors, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical assemblies; ability to interpret technical manuals effectively.
- Skilled in welding, soldering, alignment procedures, tire service, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, air brake systems, HVAC systems for heavy machinery, and suspension components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of quality workmanship in fast-paced environments.
