At Palo Alto County Health System, we believe great care starts with great people — and our Certified Nursing Assistants play an essential role in delivering the compassionate, respectful, high-quality care our community counts on. As a CNA at PACHS, you’ll be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team where your work makes a meaningful difference every day.
In this role, you’ll assist patients with daily living needs, help monitor and report vital signs, respond promptly to call lights, support admissions and discharges, maintain accurate charts, restock supplies, and ensure the unit is clean, organized, and running smoothly. You’ll work closely with RNs and LPNs to provide hands-on care, communicate clearly with patients and families, and create a positive, reassuring experience for everyone who enters our facility.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine desire to care for patients with dignity and respect. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, an active Iowa CNA certification, current (or willing-to-obtain) BLS certification, and completion of Dependent/Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporting training within six months of hire. You should also be comfortable using basic computer software, willing to adapt as processes evolve, and physically able to assist with patient mobility, stand and walk frequently, and lift up to 50 lbs with support when needed.
PACHS is proud to invest in the people who invest in our patients. We offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package designed to support your total well-being, including:
