Job Summary PC DMIS to Program CMM for Inspection of Machined Parts
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PC DMIS (CMM) Programmer to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS software to ensure precise dimensional inspection of manufactured components. Your expertise will support our commitment to excellence in manufacturing and adherence to strict quality standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9100 aerospace industry requirements. Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CMM programs using PC-DMIS software for complex parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and technical drawings.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) accurately to perform dimensional inspections on machined parts, tooling, and prototypes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to establish measurement strategies.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring devices to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections in accordance with ISO 13485, AS9100, ASME codes & standards, and other relevant quality standards in production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and recommend process improvements for enhanced quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, calibration logs, and measurement data to support compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience programming and operating PC-DMIS or similar CMM software within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, dimensional inspection techniques, and precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (medical device quality management), AS9100 aerospace standards, and related quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and schematic analysis.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling setups, CNC operations, and schematic schematics is highly desirable.
- Technical proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or CAD-based inspection planning tools is a plus.
