Oversee and coordinate all field operations for underground utility construction projects, including water, sanitary sewer, force main, and storm drainage installations.
Supervise Foremen, crew members, subcontractors, and equipment operators to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Plan and coordinate daily construction activities, manpower, equipment, and material needs to maintain project schedules.
Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents to ensure compliance throughout all phases of construction.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues that may impact safety, quality, schedule, or budget.
Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and industry best practices.
Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, utility owners, and clients to maintain effective communication and project continuity.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company quality standards and project specifications.
Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, safety documentation, and project logs.
Lead daily safety meetings and reinforce a strong safety culture throughout all job sites.
Mentor, train, and develop Foremen and field employees to promote professional growth and operational excellence.
Assist with scheduling inspections, utility coordination, and project closeout activities.
Respond promptly to field challenges and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project execution.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising underground utility construction projects is preferred.
Extensive experience with the installation of water, gravity sewer, sewer force main, and storm drainage systems.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, survey layouts, grades, and utility drawings.
Thorough understanding of underground utility installation methods, excavation safety, trench protection systems, and construction sequencing.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple crews, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with construction documentation, daily reporting, and project scheduling.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
OSHA 30 certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
