We are seeking a Custodial & Maintenance Technician who understands that clean, safe, and well maintained spaces are not just operational. They are essential to dignity, stability, and recovery for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
This role is hands on, physical, and deeply meaningful. You will be responsible for the day to day care of our facilities, ensuring that both client and staff spaces are clean, functional, and welcoming. When things work as they should, our team can focus fully on supporting survivors. That is the impact of this role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Janitorial Services & Daily Operations
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of all indoor spaces, including client areas, staff offices, shared spaces, kitchens, and bathrooms
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors and surfaces throughout the facility
- Empty trash and recycling from kitchen bins, staff offices, and common areas
- Maintain cleanliness standards that promote health, safety, and dignity for all occupants
- Identify and report sanitation or facility concerns proactively
Facilities Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform basic maintenance tasks including:
- Unclogging and plunging toilets
- Snaking and clearing drains
- Replacing air filters
- Addressing minor plumbing issues
o Support light repair work and upkeep of building systems and fixtures
o Assist with installation tasks such as blinds, shades, and minor equipment
o Support moving and lifting of furniture and equipment (e.g., beds, frames, supplies)
o Monitor facility conditions and communicate maintenance needs to the Maintenance Coordinator
Groundskeeping & Seasonal Responsibilities
- Maintain outdoor spaces to ensure safety and accessibility
- Shovel snow and apply ice melt to walkways and entry points
- Support general outdoor upkeep and cleanliness
- Ensure pathways and entrances remain safe and usable for clients, staff, and visitors
Project and Vendor Support
- Assist with maintenance and facility improvement projects as directed
- Support preparation and execution of facility related projects
- Work alongside vendors and monitor their presence on a secure campus
- Help ensure vendor work is completed appropriately and safely
Volunteer Project Support
- Support and help oversee volunteer service projects related to maintenance and facilities
- Assist in preparing materials, organizing tasks, and ensuring projects are completed safely and effectively
- Contribute to creating a meaningful and well organized volunteer experience
Safety, Confidentiality & Professional Conduct
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and organizational information
- Work within a trauma informed framework that prioritizes safety, dignity, and respect
- Complete work in a manner that minimizes disruption to client services
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
