American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Direct Observation Unit position at a short-term acute care hospital in Washington, requiring Epic experience and flexibility to float between like units.

Short-term acute care hospital setting with 325 staffed beds
-
Observation Care Unit on the 3rd floor
-
Patient population includes surgical patients requiring overnight stays, procedural observation patients, medical observation patients, some medical inpatient cases, and long length-of-stay patients

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
-
Patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights, 1:5 on weekends
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Floating is required between like units within skill set on a regular basis
-
No on-call requirements
-
Charting via Epic (experience required)

13-week contract
-
Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (pending license not accepted)

Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting

SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for a travel contract

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within Washington state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

RTO is permitted but preferred to be kept under 7 days for the duration of the assignment

Professional license must be active at the time of consideration
