Duties
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other building materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
- Perform roughframing for residential new construction.
- Operate machinery and tools safely to fabricate custom components and structural elements.
- Ensure adherence to power tool safety protocols while handling all power tools for woodworking and construction tasks.
- Assist with remodeling projects.
- Support heavy lifting activities and use scaffolding or ladders safely at construction sites.
- Read and interpret construction plans and schematics to ensure accurate project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while complying with safety standards across all job sites.
Skills
- Extensive experience in interpreting technical drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Skilled in operating power tools for woodworking including drills, saws (circular saws, miter saws).
- Strong background in residential carpentry including framing, trim work, cabinetry, door hanging, and siding.
- Knowledge of wood construction materials.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques safely managing materials on-site.
- Understanding of construction site safety protocols including power tool safety standards.
- Competence in fabrication processes for custom woodwork or metal components used in renovation projects.
