The Senior Analyst, Credit Risk Oversight, plays a key role in the Bank's second line of defense by supporting independent oversight, monitoring, and assessment of credit risk across the consumer lending portfolios. This position performs portfolio risk analysis, monitors emerging credit trends, develops executive-level risk reporting, and supports the review and challenge of material credit decisions.
The role serves as a primary coordinator of the Bank’s Quarterly Credit Oversight reporting process. Through data-driven analysis, effective communication, and cross-functional partnership, this position helps identify emerging risks, improve transparency into portfolio performance, and support informed risk management decisions. This position reports to the Director, Credit Risk Oversight.
Essential Functions:
Credit Risk Monitoring & Analysis:
Monitors consumer lending portfolio performance, credit trends, forecast outcomes, and key risk indicators. Conducts analysis to identify emerging risks, adverse trends, variances from expectations, and potential risk appetite concerns.
Credit Oversight Reporting:
Coordinates the development of the quarterly Credit Oversight Report and supporting materials. Produces recurring and ad hoc reporting, synthesizing portfolio performance, forecast results, credit decisions, and emerging risks into clear, actionable insights for management and governance committees.
Risk Assessment & Governance Support:
Supports independent assessment of portfolio risk, CECL forecasts, and material credit decisions. Assists in the preparation of oversight documentation, challenge artifacts, concurrence materials, and governance reporting.
Credit Analytics & Early Warning Monitoring:
Develops and maintains portfolio monitoring tools, dashboards, and analytical frameworks used to assess portfolio health and identify early warning indicators. Evaluates performance relative to expectations, forecasts, and risk appetite thresholds.
Review & Challenge Support:
Performs analytical reviews of assumptions, methodologies, and performance drivers supporting credit forecasts and credit decisions. Identifies areas requiring additional analysis, clarification, or challenge and presents findings to Credit Risk Oversight leadership.
Cross-Functional Partnership:
Collaborates across first- and second-line functions to gather information, understand portfolio developments, and support effective risk oversight. Develops productive working relationships while maintaining an independent risk perspective.
Requirements for Success:
Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or quantitative discipline is required.

Master's degree (MBA, Economics, Statistics or related field) is preferred.

Two (2) years of experience in credit risk, consumer lending, portfolio analytics, financial analysis, or related analytical risk disciplines.

Experience developing performance reporting, portfolio monitoring, or credit risk analysis is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities:

Credit Risk Knowledge: Understanding of consumer lending, portfolio management, credit performance metrics, and credit risk monitoring concepts.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with experience evaluating portfolio trends, identifying performance drivers, conducting root cause analysis, and interpreting large datasets.

Risk Reporting & Communication: Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information into concise, actionable reporting and presentations for management audiences.

Data Visualization & Reporting: Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL and Excel required. Experience with SAS, Python, or comparable analytical tools preferred.

Intellectual Curiosity: Demonstrates a desire to understand underlying drivers of portfolio performance, challenge conventional thinking, and proactively investigate emerging risks, trends, and opportunities for deeper analysis.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position is remote or hybrid, and if hybrid, the expectation is that the employee will work approximately 2-3 days onsite per week, depending on business needs.
