Here at Riverdale Animal Hospital, we are seeking a dedicated and confident Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Our ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animals and their care, learning, and motivation to maintain the standard of our clinic! We expect the ability to provide support in a fast-paced veterinary environment, while maintaining a calm manner during stressful times. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our veterinarian and ensuring the well-being of animals during their visits. As a team, we strive to answer any questions and train our employees to the best of our ability. This positions requires candidates who can handle a multitude of sights and odors that come with working at a hospital. This includes, but is not limited to; blood, feces, urine, wounds, etc.
Responsibilities
- Clean/Disinfect exam rooms thoroughly (feces, urine, blood)
- Assisting the veterinarian during examinations and procedures.
- Restraint/Handling of patients in a manner that ensures the safety of both our clients and our staff.
- Reception Duties: Schedule Appointments, Answer Phone Calls, Receive Packages, Communicate with Clients, Check Patients In/Out, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas, examination rooms, kennels, and front reception.
- Monitor patients during their stay and reporting to the veterinarian.
- Assist in specimen collection (blood, urine, etc.).
