We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and documenting clinical information accurately.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and specimen collection in accordance with established protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring precise documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical records management.
- Support patient intake processes by collecting medical histories, updating personal information, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain clinical environments by sterilizing equipment, organizing supplies, and adhering to infection control standards.
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers to enhance patient service experience and ensure clarity of instructions.
- Assist with administrative duties including appointment scheduling, billing support, ICD coding for diagnoses, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, or specialty departments such as dermatology or geriatrics to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role is not required; experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) management tools.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments like hospital trauma centers or emergency medicine units.
- Excellent communication skills to provide exceptional patient service and foster effective teamwork among healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with inpatient experience or Level II trauma center operations is a plus; knowledge of medical-surgical procedures and internal medicine practices is beneficial.
