ShuChih Art Studio is a leading provider of after-school fine art education to children living in Orange County, CA.
For the last 35 years, we have taught children fine arts using various art mediums in preparing them for art school, receiving art achievement awards, and expanding their extra-curricular enrichment.
In 2020, we introduced digital art in our art curriculum. It became a popular and widely interested art medium for our students.
Job Qualifications
- Current or graduated Art major (or related field)
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required
- Proficient in Procreate
- Strong understanding of character design, storyboarding, comics, and visual storytelling
- Solid foundation in traditional drawing and painting
- Patient, enthusiastic, and enjoys working with children
- Able to work the following schedule: Tuesday: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Thursday: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Friday: 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM, and Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and complete Form I-9 employment verification
Portfolio Requirement
Please submit a portfolio with your application. We encourage applicants to include:
- Traditional drawings
- Observational or life drawings
- Paintings
- Digital artwork
A portfolio website link is preferred, but PDF or image attachments are also accepted.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead classroom lectures and instruction on digital art and using Procreate
- Collaborate with other art instructors on projects and lesson plans
- Provide art feedback and critique on student’s work
- Support students by answering questions and giving direction
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
