Overview:
The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to serve our District as a Library Media Specialist. We are interested in a candidate who has the ability to work with students while effectively collaborating with the administration, faculty and staff towards the improvement of our instructional programming.
- Step 1 MA - $55,300 through Step 8 MA - $58,750 (25/26 rate) or as per LCTA Contract
Job Qualifications
New York State Certification as a Library Media Specialist
Core Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data and specially designed instruction.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of subject area and grade level curricula; promote competency in information literacy across the curriculum
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop curricular content that integrates library media and technology skills
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators and others to ensure that the full range of information resources is available to promote student learning
- Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques.
- Meet course, grade level and district performance goals.
- Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow and promote success for students of all abilities.
- Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and read to stay abreast of current topics in education.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement.
