Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Worker Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of goods within our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong operational skills, a commitment to safety standards, and experience handling various types of heavy equipment. As a key contributor to our warehouse distribution processes, you will support shipping and receiving activities, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold high safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Perform order picking using various equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) data entry for inventory tracking and order processing
- Handle heavy lifting tasks following OSHA safety guidelines to prevent injuries
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage layouts and improve workflow efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment to promote safety and productivity
- Participate in regular safety training sessions focused on heavy equipment operation and materials handling best practices
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, order picking techniques, and warehouse distribution operations
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork within a diverse environment
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during shifts
