Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and accountable to the licensed nursing staff members, the CNA assists in providing patient care, and maintaining records and a clean environment.
- Provides care appropriate to the age of the population served.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of human growth and development.
- Provides proper personal hygiene and care to all patients.
- Accurately measures and records vital signs.
- Accurately measures and records weights and heights.
- Accurately measures and records intake and output.
- Recognizes abnormal findings and reports such findings appropriately.
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper transfer techniques.
- Consistently provides preventative skin care measures and reports abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Provides meal assistance to patients as needed.
- Properly collects specimens as directed.
- Utilizes special beds appropriately and triggers alarms on all “high risk for falls” patients.
- Keep patient rooms neat and tidy.
- Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
- Will act as safety sitter as needed.
- Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
- Provide, without discrimination, nursing services regardless of age, disability, economic status, gender, national origin, and race, religion, or health problems of the patient’s service.
- Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- One year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Texas State Certified Nurse Aide License is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required upon hire date.
