The Exceptional Children (EC) resource teacher collaborates closely with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and assess instruction within inclusive classroom settings while providing specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned to each student's IEP. This role supports students with disabilities through evidence-based instructional practices, accommodations, flexible grouping, and progress monitoring to maximize academic and functional growth. Services may be delivered across a continuum of settings, including general education classrooms, supplemental small-group instruction, and more intensive special education environments, based on individual student needs and least restrictive environment (LRE) determinations. Strong collaboration, data-driven decision making, and a commitment to inclusive practices are essential for success in this role.
