We are seeking a Property Manager for our 162-unit property in Compton, CA. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the property and ensure the highest level of service to our residents. This is a 100% HUD property (Project Based Section 8). The Property Manager oversees initial certifications, recertifications, move-ins, interims, terminations, and other compliance processes.
If your experience is with Section 8 vouchers, please note that Project Based Section 8 is not the same thing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engage with tenants to collect necessary documents for all property requirements.
- Perform leasing duties to market the property and fill vacancies within 20 days.
- Inspect the property on a regular basis to identify needed repairs
- Compile contractor quotes for extensive work that may be needed
- Maintain files in accordance with HUD guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of property management experience
- 3+ years proficiency in OneSite software
- Strong background in property administrative tasks and facilities management.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and handle sales inquiries professionally and within fair housing guidelines
- Excellent phone etiquette skills for tenant interactions.
- Attention to detail in documentation.
- Spanish preferred but not required
- Project Based Section 8 experience preferred but not required. If you have experience with LIHTC that is a good starting point for learning Project Based Section 8.
