We are actively recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for full-time, 13- and 26-week contract positions at state-operated adult correctional facilities in central and eastern Virginia areas, including Burkeville, Dillwyn, Haynesville, Jarratt, Lawrenceville, and Victoria. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care for those in need.
Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.
Job Details:
- 13- and 26-week contracts (with opportunities for contract renewals)
- Day shift and night shift positions are available
- Full-time schedule, 36 hours
Shift Details:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Shift times vary by facility
- Day shift times (6:30a-7:00p / 8:00a-8:30p)
- Night shift times (6:00p-6:30a / 6:30p-7:00a / 7:00p-7:30a / 8:00p-8:30a)
License and Credentials Requirements:
- Current Virginia or compact LPN License
- Current CPR Certification, BLS - American Heart Association
- Current PPD
Primary Job Duties:
- Administer medications and treatments
- Provide health education and counseling
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
- Monitor inmate health and maintain patient records
- Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
- Supervise nursing assistants
