Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, including poaching, braising, grilling, and other cooking techniques aligned with menu specifications
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection, portion sizes, and presentation styles
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations to ensure a safe dining environment
- Support high-volume food production while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation for catering events or large-scale service periods
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and culinary techniques to enhance dish quality
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently, following established recipes and standards for taste, appearance, and safety
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within healthcare or institutional settings
- Strong background in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering experience with emphasis on food preparation and service
- Expertise in menu planning, food safety management, and sanitation procedures
- Skilled in various cooking methods including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production techniques
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume production environments with efficiency and attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools and equipment
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions, special diets, and nutritional guidelines preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude
