Walnut Psychotherapy Center is seeking a compassionate and highly organized individual to serve as our intake coordinator.
We’re seeking someone with a strong understanding of, and commitment to, working with LGBTQ+ communities, who can navigate complex systems and clinical presentations with compassion and clarity. This role is key in supporting new clients as they begin their therapeutic journey with us.
Queer, trans, and BIPOC clinicians are especially encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
● Initial Assessment Process: Gather client information, including demographics, clinical history, and insurance details.
● Scheduling & Referrals: Schedule initial appointments with therapists and make appropriate referrals when needed.
● Client Communication: Respond to client inquiries, provide clear information about services, and offer guidance throughout the intake process.
● Documentation: Maintain accurate records of intake information, client interactions, and the transfer process.
Criteria & Expectations:
● Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Walnut’s mission: providing long-term, LGBTQ+-affirming, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming care.
● Capacity to hold space for nuance and complexity in therapy; ability to meet diverse client experiences with compassion and insight.
● Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to build trust and rapport with clients.
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, track appointments, and work well under pressure.
● Collaborative, open to feedback, and eager to work closely with both clinical and administrative teams.
● Professional, respectful, and empathetic in interactions with both clients and staff.
● Comfortable navigating multiple tech platforms, including Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, etc. and is open to learning electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
