Under the direction of the Field Division Manager, is responsible for budgeting, planning, directing, organizing and controlling the Civil Maintenance Branch and civil maintenance activities of all facilities in the Southern Field Division. Decisions with far-reaching implications will sometimes be required without time for detailed consideration. May perform administrative tasks in SAP such as time reports, program reports, requisitioning, work order notifications and other SAP functions. Provides support to the Planner/Scheduler function.
Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs all maintenance, repair, replacement and improvements to the civil and structural portions of the State Water Project facilities within the field division. Conducts periodic inspections and determines the extent of required maintenance, repair or replacement. Provides for the transportation, storage, procurement, assignment and maintenance of all Field Division mobile and vehicular equipment.
Makes recommendations to the Field Division Manager concerning economical, safe and effective policies, procedures and techniques relative to civil maintenance in general. Coordinates appropriate activities with other branches within the field division, other DWR entities, other government and civil entities, vendors, contractors and the general public.
Directs the administrative activities of the Civil Maintenance Branch to include: personnel management, procurement, budgeting, program control, correspondence, reports, policy, project planning, procedures, and preparation of operating manuals.
