Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and medication administration are required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient transfer using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, families, and other caregivers
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed
