Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, supervising staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, and staff scheduling
- Support hiring processes through interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development initiatives
- Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service
- Able to handle cash register operations, POS transactions, and cash handling procedures accurately
- Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports related to sales, payroll, and budgeting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and health regulations
- Maintain effective communication with team members and upper management to facilitate smooth operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive work environment
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational skills
- Proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, information systems and computers, retail math, pricing strategies, and cash handling procedures
- Ability to perform retail math calculations accurately for sales management and budgeting purposes
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development, and performance management
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, marketing strategies, and promotional planning
- Strong organizational skills and administrative tasks
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts as needed; experience with shift management is preferred
- Demonstrated ability in customer service excellence and conflict resolution skills
