Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in providing quality eye care to our patients. Duties:
- Perform <in-office testing> to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions
- Conduct <visual acuity tests> and <tonometry> to assess patients' vision and eye pressure
- Administer <ophthalmic medications> as directed by physicians
- Assist with <ophthalmic procedures> such as <retinal imaging> and <visual field testing>
- Maintain accurate <patient records> and ensure compliance with <HIPAA regulations>
- Educate patients on <eye care> and <contact lens care>
- Utilize <Epic systems> for scheduling appointments and updating patient information
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role
- Knowledge of <medical coding> and terminology
- Familiarity with <optical equipment> and instruments
- Understanding of <ophthalmic conditions> and treatment options
- Proficiency in taking <vital signs> and documenting patient information
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Certification in Ophthalmic Assisting or equivalent is preferred
- Basic understanding of <physiology> related to the eyes
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Experience with <sales> of eyewear or optical products
- Familiarity with working in a <clinic> setting
- Knowledge of various <medical systems>
