SUMMARY: Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building]
Supervises and coordinates efforts of workers engaged in any given trade or on a specific task.
Specific Responsibilities: Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building]
General
1. Able to understand plans and specifications.
2. Ensure all trash in your work area is picked up daily. Notifications given to Superintendent when trash needs to be picked up.
3. Ensure crew is always starting work timely (7:00am) and crews are working diligently until end of the shift. Also ensure crews take proper snack/lunch breaks throughout the day.
4. Communicate any issues occurring in the field that differ from the contract plans or being directed by an employee other than MCM to the Superintendent.
5. Monitors overtime on crew and ensure that all OT is approved by superintendent prior to performing the work.
6. Provides Daily/Weekly Progress Photos to the Project Team.
Schedule
7. Read, understand and follow the Look Ahead schedules provided by Superintendent, and do not detour from schedule unless authorization has been given by Superintendent.
8. All MOT lane Closure schedule requests are provided timely to Superintendent if applicable.
9. Achieves deadlines identified on look ahead schedules on time or early; if deadline will not be met on time, communicates to supervisor prior to the deadline providing status and requesting a specific time extension.
Equipment
10. Ensure all Equipment request are made with a minimum of 72 hours notice and ensure that the amount of time needed for the equipment is being projected accurately if applicable.
11. Management of all heavy equipment on the crew, including taking photos and inspection immediately arrival on the job, proper fueling and greasing, and safe use without abuse if applicable.
12. Ensuring operators on crew are performing their daily inspection equipment reports, and submitting them daily to the superintendent if applicable.
13. Maintaining clean company trucks for himself and his crews as well as maintenance on the equipment Oil, Tries, etc as required to best represent MCM if applicable.
14. Tracking and maintenance of small tools for your crew, and ensure small tools are protected and secured daily if applicable.
15. Ensure equipment is utilized as much as possible; schedule and coordinate equipment moves; report equipment damage within 12 hour of occurrence and holding the responsible person accountable for their negligence if applicable.
Material
16. Takeoff quantities and coordinates material acquisitions timely to maintain production.
17. Ensure all Material requests are made with a minimum of 72 hours notice and ensure that the amount of time needed for the equipment is being projected accurately.
18. Ensure all Delivery tickets are being delivered to the Project Engineer within 24 hours of receipt, and proper notes regarding location and use of materials are put on tickets.
Subcontractors
19. Ensure subcontractors in your work area are being tracked properly and are performing their work safely and properly.
20. Ensure all trucking requirements for material, hauling, etc are provided timely to not delay the production.
21. Analyze truck needs using cycle and load/unload time analysis to ensure compliance with project budgets.
Safety
22. Establishes & maintains a safe, organized, clean and productive work site. Knowledgeable with safety requirements and enforces MCM Safety Standards.
23. Report all incidents (Theft, Injury, Altercation, Reprimands) to supervision immediately.
24. Follow the Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for all major activities of work.
25. Safety Task Planner are performed and submitted every day.
Survey
26. Request survey at a minimum with 48 hours in advance for all survey needs and requirements.
27. Maintain a basic knowledge of surveying, including layout practices and equipment operation.
28. Ensuring that the work is installed per survey layout (elevation and location) and asbuilt for accuracy prior to the next trade of definable feature of work commencing.
Quality
29. Ensure that all Q/C requirements are provided timely and with advance notice per the requirements set forth in the contract documents.
30. Ensure that all work is tested and/or inspected by the QC department prior to covering it up or moving on to the next item of work.
31. Minimize rework and punchlists by planning completely and striving to do work right the first time. Report all Rework to the Superintendent immediately, identify the cause and the lessons learned.
Extra Curricular Corporate Involvement
32. Participates regularly in continuing education, personal training, and professional improvement to continually improve and grow with MCM.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building]
Physically, Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building]must be capable of:
· Able to lift/manipulate materials, tools, and equipment as necessary to perform assigned tasks.
· Able to walk, stand or climb for periods of time, as required, and perform assigned tasks.
Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building] must be able to:
· Apply rational thinking and approaches to solving problems.
· Have basic knowledge of algebra and geometry.
. Have knowledge of and apply industry standards for specific trades.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building]
· Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building] must be a High school graduate.
· Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building] Must have a Four (4) year College Degree.
. Construction Foreman [General Construction - Building] Must have 5 - 10 years experience as a Foreman.
