The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Women's Health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, and reproductive health services. The CNM will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care while supporting healthy pregnancies, safe deliveries, and women's overall health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in examinations of obstetrical patients as needed and collaborates with midwives from Boston Medical Center and Brigham & Women’s Hospital, who are primarily responsible for the care, treatment, and delivery of the patient.
- Outpatient prenatal/postpartum and GYN care only.
- Leads Centering Pregnancy group visits for prenatal patients.
- Proficient in gynecological office procedures.
- Performs postpartum examinations and treatments to ensure the patient and infant are responding normally.
- Proficient in conducting gynecological exams and Pap smears.
- Proficient in addressing family planning and menopause-related issues.
- Educate patients and families regarding pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding, contraception, and preventive health.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women's health preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient education skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
