Caregiver (CNA / Resident Assistant) – PRN

What You’ll Do

Provide compassionate, hands-on support to Sisters in accordance with nursing direction and established care plans.

Assist with personal care needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, positioning, toileting, and mobility.

Respond promptly to call lights in Clare and Francis buildings.

Assist the nurse on shift during health-related situations and emergencies.

Support meal service by delivering trays, assisting Sisters with eating, passing beverages and nourishment, and maintaining kitchenette cleanliness.

Take and accurately record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and weight as directed.

Assist with safe physical transfers following established lifting guidelines.

Transport Sisters to activities, appointments, liturgy, retreat, and other chapel gatherings.

Participate in activity support and provide meaningful companionship between assigned duties.

Change bed linens and maintain clean, orderly Sister rooms and neighborhood areas.

Maintain equipment cleanliness through daily use and cleaning schedules.

Follow all infection control, confidentiality, and safety procedures in accordance with Mount St. Francis Center standards and state regulations.

Demonstrate familiarity with fire, tornado, and disaster procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the nursing team and community life.
What You’ll Bring

CNA certification or Nurse Aide experience preferred.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Completion of food service and food handling training.

Ability to work collaboratively under nursing supervision.

Physical Requirements

Heavy physical exertion required.

Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.

Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and transferring of Sisters.

Floor-to-waist lifting up to 50 lbs.

Waist-to-shoulder lifting up to 30 lbs.

Bilateral carry up to 50 lbs.
-
Push and pull up to 35 lbs.

Ability to read and use equipment such as thermometers and blood pressure cuffs.
