Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and perform floor care to maintain a pristine appearance
- Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or large supplies with manual handling techniques to ensure safety
- Maintain cleanliness standards by dusting, polishing surfaces, and replenishing amenities in guest rooms and common areas
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or safety concerns
- Use janitorial equipment efficiently, including vacuums, mops, buffers, and other cleaning tools to maximize productivity
Requirements
- Proven hotel housekeeping experience or janitorial/custodial experience in a hospitality setting
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor cleaning, sanitation practices, and industrial cleaning methods
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) protocols
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management procedures and hotel emergency protocols is preferred
- Experience with cleaning equipment operation including vacuuming machines, floor buffers, and other industrial cleaning tools
