Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, reliable, and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our team at a large residential apartment community in Southfield, Michigan. This role is critical in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, guests, and staff.
The ideal candidate has strong observational skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to excellent customer service while enforcing community policies and safety procedures.
Schedule:
Rotating Tuesday-Friday and Saturday- Tuesday. Rotation occurs first Sunday of every month
Week Days: 4:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.
Weekends: 2:00 P.M to 2:00 A.M.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the property on foot and/or in a vehicle to ensure safety and security
- Monitor and control access to the community
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and resident concerns
- Enforce property rules, regulations, and policies
- Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary
- Provide a visible security presence to deter criminal activity
- Deliver professional and courteous interactions with residents and visitors
Requirements
- Must possess a valid CPL
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Must be dependable and able to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be able to pass drug testing
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)
- Ability to patrol large areas, including stairs and uneven terrain
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds if needed
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, including running or climbing stairs
- Must have sufficient vision (with or without correction) to observe surroundings and read reports
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
