Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients safely
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishes to the dishwashing station
- Maintain cleanliness of the dish area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces, adhering to sanitation protocols
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and crates while practicing proper ergonomic techniques
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Experience with dishwashing equipment operation and general kitchen cleaning procedures
- Basic food handling skills with an understanding of proper hygiene standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours
