This is not a repetitive shop position. You will work in shipyards, onboard vessels, and at customer locations across the United States and internationally. Every assignment presents a new challenge—from troubleshooting hydraulic systems and performing repairs to testing, commissioning, and returning essential equipment back to service.

What You Will Do
Hydraulic & Mechanical Service - Perform work on specialized Life Boat Cranes called Davits on Military Ships
- Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and troubleshooting hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Perform operational testing, adjustments, and system commissioning
- Diagnose issues involving pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, controls, and related equipment
- Interpret hydraulic diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
- Utilize hand tools, precision measuring tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Complete detailed service reports and technical documentation
Field Service
- Travel to customer sites, shipyards, and vessels worldwide
- Work independently and manage service assignments
- Provide professional technical support and high-quality workmanship
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates effectively
Safety & Quality
- Follow all safety procedures and technical requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records
- Ensure work is completed to the highest standards of quality
Qualifications
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a hydraulic mechanic, field service technician, industrial mechanic, heavy equipment technician, marine mechanic, military mechanic, or related role
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience required
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability required
- Electrical troubleshooting experience is a strong plus
- Experience in industrial, marine, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or military environments is highly preferred
Education & Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical school, military training, or an associate degree is preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively
Security Requirement
Because this role supports sensitive government programs, applicants must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- Be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship
- Have no dual citizenship due to program requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 35 pounds or more
- Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and work in industrial and shipboard environments
- Ability to work around machinery, tools, and confined spaces as required
